"Octavian Goga" Secondary school is located near the old centre of the town, full of history and its vestiges and was founded in 1852. Since the year 2002 the name of the school is that of a famous Romanian poet, Octavian Goga, the father of the school. There are around 700 pupils studying in this school taught by 38 teachers.
The school programme is from 8 o’clock a.m. till 12.00 for the primary school pupils and till 1.00 or 2.00 o’clock p.m. for those in the secondary school. Only a few classes have their programme in the afternoon, from 12.00 till 5.00 p.m.
During the breaks the students play in the schoolyard or sit on a bench near the sport grounds: the volleyball, the football and the basketball one. We can eat our sandwiches or buy some food and drinks from the kiosk, inside the school, because there is no canteen in the school.
